Languishing in my fruit bowl, a bag of Rainier cherries. Their pink and yellow flesh blushes intensely. Picking out handfuls at a time, I eat them greedily and savour their intense sweetness. But half a bag remains in my fruit bowl.
Rainiers are sensitive souls. Vulnerable to the elements and gorged on by birds, these lucky few have made it to my fruit bowl. It’s now time to take action and show them the respect they deserve.
A quick Internet search brings up the recipe for Sunday Cherry Pancakes on the wonderfully named Food Mayhem. I can recommend this easy foolproof recipe, and while these pancakes are so delicious they shouldn’t just be reserved for Sundays. But they can’t be made in a rush.
